CALL TO ACTION: ACA 1-AGUIAR-CURRY SET FOR HEARING
3/20/2019 - On Wednesday, March 27th the Assembly Local Government Committee at the California State Capitol, will be hearing ACA 1 by Assemblywoman Cecilia Aguiar-Curry (D-Winters). The measure, which is being supported by the California Library Association, will reduce the local vote threshold for the approval of public infrastructure local bond and special tax measures from the current two-thirds vote to a 55% majority. The measure could potentially benefit all types of public infrastructure, including but not limited to parks, flood control, libraries, streets, water quality, and broadband.
