Individual Voting Membership Eligibility, Benefits and Dues

An individual engaged in the provision of library services; a student enrolled in a graduate program of library and information science; an individual interested in the development, promotion and improvement of library services; or an individual who is a life member upon payment of dues exempting the member from further payment. Voting members are eligible to vote, hold elected office, and serve on committees, and receive all other member benefits.

One-time dues are based on your age at joining/renewing

• 39 and under = $3000
• 40-49 = $2500
• 50-59 = $2000
• 60+ = $1500

First Time Member register online

Standard - based on salary register online

• $30,000-$39,999 -  $55
• $40,000-$54,999 -  $80
• $55,000-$84.999 -  $100
• $85,000-$114,,999- $165
• $115,000-$149,999 - $195
• $150,000 and above -$230

• $20 annual for up to 4 years

Supporting Individual register online

• An individual who is not currently employed in the provision of library services in California, who supports the mission of the Association and who desires to support the Association monetarily. Supporting members may participate in association activities and receive member benefits as determined by the Board of Directors, but do not have the right to vote, the right to hold office, or the right to serve on committees.

Business register online

• A for-profit company or organization that supports the mission of the Association. Business members are not eligible to vote, hold elected office or serve on association committees. Business members may receive member benefits and shall pay dues as determined by the Board of Directors.

Institutional - Eligibility - Benefits

An Institutional member is, but is not limited to, libraries, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations and institutions that support the mission of the Association. Institutional members are not eligible to vote, hold elected office or serve on association committees. Institutional members may receive member benefits and shall pay dues as determined by the Board of Directors.

Basic - based on annual budget

• Less than $200,000 = $150
• $200,000 to $500,000 = $250
• $500,000 to $1,000,000 = $500
• $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 = $750
• $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 = $1,000
• $10,000,000 to $19,900,000 = $2,000
• More than $20,000,000 = $3,000
