Purpose

The Graphic Novel and Comics Interest Group is dedicated to supporting paraprofessional and librarian engagement with graphic novels and comics. We promote collection development, discussion, programming, and advocacy relating to the genre.

Goals

  • Lead at least one (1) program at the CLA annual conference.
  • Offer guidance for comic-related library programming including, but not limited to, Free Comic Book Day, Will Eisner Week, graphic novel book clubs, and comic-cons.
  • Advocate for the graphic novel and comic collection development in libraries.

Members of the Graphic Novel and Comics Interest Group are invited to join the Graphic Novel and Comics listserv where members communicate and share information.

Please note: the listserv will be reviewed twice per year and non-active CLA members will be removed from the list.
