Alice Kuo for CLA Board Director

Statement of Concerns

“I am running for the CLA Board because I believe that advocacy for our profession is more important than ever during this challenging period. At a time when libraries are closing and our relevance is being questioned, we must all step up and do our part by sharing stories, collaborating, and helping one another. This is also a time for continuous transformation. I have seen vast changes in the profession in the past 15 years—changes to our role as librarians, the programs we offer, the delivery of services—and I’m eager to be part of a team that shapes and directs change in California Libraries. I look forward to the opportunity to serve with others who share the same vision. In this era of uncertainty, it is important to remember California Library Association is our community, and by working together, being engaged and staying positive, it will lead us to an exciting future!”
