“Marketing Strategies from PRExcellence Winners” webinar series

 

A group of 2018 PRExcellence Award Winners share the strategies they used to implement a winning marketing plan. Presenters will cover creating a marketing plan, implementing the plan, and evaluating the plan using their projects as a case study. These webinars will give a more in-depth look into how the best marketing campaigns are created.

 

“Multi-Channel Marketing for Greater Impact”

Ara and Anahid Oshagan, ReflectSpace Gallery Curators, Glendale Central Library, Glendale CA present the multi-dimensional on-line and in-print marketing efforts from their winning PRExcellence project.  Their team and the library staff created a campaign to reveal the newly formed ReflectSpace gallery and their art-programming to the public.

Anahid will speak about the successes and failures of their campaigns, short and long-term. He will also address the issue why an art gallery and art-related programming is a critical part of the Glendale Library’s future.

Ara Oshagan is a photographer, installation artist and curator whose work revolves around the intersecting themes of identity, disrupted community, and memory. He has published two books and has been involved in multiple solo and group shows and several public art projects, locally and internationally. His work is held by several museums and arts institutions.

Anahid Oshagan is a practicing litigator and arts organizer. Her clients include artists and galleries and her law practice focuses on contracts, construction law and business development. She has managed several large-scale public art projects and currently serves on the boards of the Armenian National Committee of America and the Glendale Library Foundation.

Since May 2017, Ara and Anahid, have curated exhibitions and public art projects at the Glendale Central Library with the aim of turning the library into a cultural and education hub. Their work has garnered interest from the LA Times, won awards, has drawn museum-level artists and hundreds of visitors to the library.



“San José Public Library’s New Member Pocket Guide”

This award-winning piece was created specifically for new SJPL members to receive when getting their library card.  The library card is to be inserted in the pocket guide which provides the most basic and important information new members need to know about their library.  The pocket-guide includes 5 panels (10 sides) that feature information about membership benefits, fine forgiveness programs, ways to advocate and support the library, eResources, services, resources and a list of all SJPL locations and schedules, to  name a few.  The pocket guide was translated in four languages and is the most requested print piece in SJPL.

 

Nancy Macias manages the San José Public Library’s (SJPL) Marketing and Communications team.  After years of working in news media, she decided to venture off into the library world, but remains in the communications field as SJPL’s Public Information Representative.  Since her arrival at SJPL in 2013, their Marketing and Communications team has won back-to-back John Cotton Dana and CLA Awards.  Nancy also leads the Spanish translations across SJPL.

 

Moises Moreno is a brand and creative strategist, with decades of multidisciplinary experience in graphic design, app & web design, layout art, UX, photography, videography, and motion graphics. He adapts his creative visions in the library world to create a library that is bold, colorful, accessible, and available in multiple languages.
