CLA Announces 2010 Election Nominees
Your 2010 Leadership Development Committee is pleased to announce the slate of candidates for the 2010-2011 California Library Association Board of Directors. Thank you to everyone who submitted applications of interest to run for a volunteer Officer or Director position!
Electronic and mail voting will begin on September 1, 2010. Winners will officially take office on November 16, 2010 following the CLA/CSLA Joint Annual Conference & Exposition in Sacramento. All individual members with voting rights will have an opportunity to vote for CLA Officers and Directors.
Now is the opportunity for write-in candidates to be added to the ballot by petition. Per CLA bylaws, properly completed petitions must be submitted to the Executive Director within 10 days of publication of this slate or no later than Friday, July 28, 2010. Nominations by petition for Vice President/President-Elect require 54 signatures of voting members of the Association. Nominations by petition for Board of Directors positions require 25 signatures of voting members of the Association. If you are planning on submitting a petition for write-in candidates, please mail your petition documents to Holly Macriss, CLA Executive Director, postmarked no later than July 28, 2010. Your voice in the association is important! Please take time to review the bios of all candidates and vote in September. Strong leadership ensures a strong association representing you and your library in California as well as across the nation.
Remember, voting will begin on September 1, 2010 and close on September 22, 2010. Ignite your passion! Push your boundaries! Get involved!
