CLA Needs You!

There is no better way to become professionally active than being a member of a CLA committee. When you give of your time you gain the friendship of new colleagues, contribute to the work of your association, and enhance your skill set.

It's now time for us to begin appointing new committee members and chairs. I hope you will volunteer to serve on a committee. If you are interested, check out the list of committees on the CLA website and complete and submit CLA's committee volunteer form. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at Barbara.Roberts@palmsprings-ca.gov.

Most committees meet once or twice a year face to face, and then work together via conference calls and email. All committees have the opportunity to schedule meetings during the CLA Conference. Committee terms range from one to three years, and the new committee appointments will become active at the completion of the 2008 annual conference in San Jose in November.

From my own experience as a CLA committee member, I can testify that you will enjoy your time on a committee. I encourage you to jump in and have some fun while making your contribution to CLA. Thanks in advance for your participation!
