Day in the District Report

Thank you to all who participated in CLA/CSLA Day in the District on January 25th and February 1st!

Thanks to your efforts we were able to meet with 69% of State Assembly members and 60% of State Senators or their staff members. Making the connection between the Legislators and libraries in their Districts has been particularly important in this year when library funds are in danger of reduction.

Many of the Legislators who were not available on January 25th or February 1st have expressed interest in meeting with library representatives at a later date. Our network of contacts is still trying to set up these appointments, so if you were unable to meet with your Legislator on the designated dates, please continue to check the database at www.legiday.net (Account Name=member, Password=member) to see if an appointment has been posted.

If you participated in a meeting with your Legislator or staff please take the time to write a brief thank you note. If possible highlight the importance of the Public Library Foundation (PLF) and Transaction Based Resources to your library and include examples of how this money is used to benefit your community.

Thank you again for your support for this important effort.
