Nicky Stanke to retire from Stockton-San Joaquin County Library
Nicola (Nicky) Stanke, Library Director for the Stockton-San Joaquin County Library has announced her retirement effective March 11, 2005. She will be relocating to Kansas City.
Nicky has been active in CLA, serving as Chair of the 2002 Conference Committee, as a member of CLA's Assembly and as a member of the Fund Development Committee. She has been active in ALA as well.
Nicky was Director of the Carnegie-Stout Public Library in Dubuque, Iowa from 1988-1994. Prior to this position she was Regional Library Administrator for the East Central Regional Library, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She received her M.A. in Library Science from the University of Iowa in 1979 and her B.A. from Grinnell. She served as President of the Iowa Library Association in 1990.
