Planning and Preparation

On this page you will find tools to help you prepare and plan for your summer reading program.

Program ChecklistBlue bug

The Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives has developed a useful checklist for planning and preparing a summer reading program. The checklist covers establishing goals and objectives, evaluating your resources, planning the components of your program, seeking community support, and program follow-up.

A Planning Timeline

The Collaborative Summer Library Program has created a planning timeline for the 2008 program that includes planning ideas and a sample budget worksheet.
