Dolly Moehrle, Ventura County Law Library

Board of Directors

Candidate Statement

California has many great libraries dedicated to every subject and serving a diverse range of users, from research institutions to local history centers, innovative public libraries to the second largest law library in the United States. Our libraries do incredible work, and our state organization should reflect the greater mission of service that ties us all together. As the director of a public law library, I bring a different perspective to CLA. However, that perspective is rooted in a desire to build connections between libraries in the state in order to secure our collective future. My active membership in CLA has given me access to some of the most interesting and talented librarians and library staff in the country and I would relish the opportunity to give back through service.
As an organization we can do more for and with each other. One of my major goals for CLA board will be to continue to "reimagine, reinvent" what we can do in order to be of better service to our members. A strong state organization benefits us all through advocacy, training, innovations, and leadership. My goal is to make CLA an indispensable organization for all of California's library staff and supporters.

Dolly Moehrle is the Director, Law Librarian, and Secretary to the Board of Trustees at the Ventura County Law Library, a position she has held since 2014. A 2012 graduate of San Jose State University's MLIS program, she has over five years of experience in both public and law libraries.
