|CLA Elections 2015 - Alice Kuo|
Alice Kuo, Beverly Hills Public Library
Board of Directors
I am running for re-election for CLA Board Member because for the past three years I have had the honor of working with an amazing group of people sharing a common vision of moving our organization forward and I want to continue to serve in that capacity. Some of the issues we tackled were:
- Ensuring CLA’s long-term financial stability
- Providing transparency and accessibility to CLA
- Increasing member benefits
- Continuing ongoing advocacy on behalf of California libraries
Although we are stronger and in better shape than we were three years ago, there is still more work to do. I have an understanding of the organization’s policies, procedures, history, and the commitment involved. Going forward I want to continue to address member needs and concerns and be part of the transformation we are witnessing in CLA and our libraries. I have seen vast changes in the profession in the past 18 years—changes to our role as librarians, the programs we offer, the delivery of services—and I’m eager to continue to be part of a team that shapes and directs change in California libraries.
