CLA is delighted to be offering members and the wider library community an array of opportunities for professional engagement this month.

We want you to be part of CLA's 116th annual conference in Oakland, November 7-9! The Call for Conference Proposals will be open until 5:00pm on Friday, March 14. This year's theme is Be The Change, so please let us know how you're effecting change and how you will inspire others to be change agents. Visit our conference website for more information and for conference updates throughout the year.

California's best and brightest are honored each year at conference. The 2014 award application and nomination period is open through 5:00pm on Friday, March 28. Please visit our scholarships and awards pages for more information, and apply or nominate a colleague for a CLA award today!

February is also Day in the District month. Local, grass roots advocacy is crucial to maintaining and growing our state funding, and CLA can provide you with the tools you need to do it well. Whether you're new to advocacy or a seasoned advocate, check out our Day in the District page for tools to help you find your assembly member or state senator, tips on scheduling meetings and lobbying legislators, and fact sheets on the Public Library Broadband Initiative and SCA 7.

CLA is the California library community's hub for collaboration, professional development, and innovation, and this is a great month for getting involved. If you have any questions about submitting a conference proposal, applying for an award or scholarship, or participating in Day in the District, please don't hesitate to contact us at
