2013 Conference Update
Prom, Battledecks, Talent Show, Ignite Sessions, Makerspace, and SO much more…
Join your colleagues and friends at the many special events that will take place at the 2013 CLA Conference in November. Whereas we are still in the planning stages, it’s sure to be the place to be…
To kick off the Conference in style, attend the annual awards gala on Sunday, November 3 – although this is not like the awards galas you may be accustomed to. This year, it will be an awards gala and PROM! Yes, you read that correctly, so dust off your poofy dresses (or your elegant dress), your tuxedo (or that nice suit), put those dancing shoes on, and come to a party to not only recognize the amazing accomplishments of your colleagues, but to also have a great time!
As if a prom wasn’t enough, we are also planning a Battledecks and Talent Show on Tuesday, November 4. Two stages – Battledecks meets Librarians Got Talent. Everyone loves watching a great “deck” during Battledecks and some even love to participate, but if that isn’t for you, perhaps you can join in the Librarians Got Talent portion of the evening. Fear not, there will be no baton twirling or swimsuit contest! But wait, there’s more… the CLA Booth in the Exhibits Hall will be the place to be. There will be a performance stage with Ignite Sessions, Mini-Battledecks, and music instruments to play; there will be a Makerspace to test your creativity; an Innovation Corner to check out some of the great innovative projects around the State; and a place to gather, relax, and connect with your friends and colleagues.
And if that isn’t enough – well, there’s still more, but you will need to stop in at the 2013 Conference in the LBCC to see what’s happening!
See you in Long Beach in November 2013!
