Pasadena Public Library is pleased to announce that Jennifer Addington has been selected as the library’s new Deputy Director. Jennifer goes to Pasadena after twelve years with the Palos Verdes Library District where she worked in every department but Facilities!... Roberto Delgadillo, UC Davis, is one of ten winners of the Carnegie Corporation of New York/New York Times I Love My Librarian Award… In January, Lacey Kammerer started a new full-time job as library clerk at Stratford Elementary, Kings County…  MLIS student Barnaby Hughes has been named Managing Editor of SLIS Student Research Journal, a peer-reviewed publication of San José State University School of Library and Information Science… As of January 3, 2013, Sylva Natalie Manoogian has completed her PhD in Library and Information Science at UCLA Graduate School of Education & Information Studies. Her dissertation title is The Calouste Gulbenkian Library, Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, 1925-1990: An Historical Portrait of a Monastic and Lay Community Intellectual Resource Center… Kristin Gunn has been accepted into the Los Rios Community College District’s Faculty Diversity Internship Program and will be performing a variety of reference, instruction, and general duties at the Sacramento City College library… Mary-Alexandra Smith, President UNT LA LISSA and MLIS Student, UNT/CSUN Greater Los Angeles Cohort,  has started an internship for the CNN Los Angeles Bureau Library… Sam McBane Mulford and Cheryl Gould helped Omaha Public Library get a $408,000 grant from IMLS to 'create a collaborative culture through community engagement.' They will work with OPL over the next two years to build capacity in staff, produce a toolkit of useful resources, and build a replicable model to guide public libraries toward leadership roles in community engagement… Dr. Barbara Morrow Williams has retired as Riverside County Librarian. Her plans include returning to law school to complete training in conflict resolution and mediation… Hillary Theyer, CLA Board Member and City Librarian for the City of Torrance, is one of 24 public librarians selected to attend the PLA Leadership Academy, March 4-8, in Chicago.
