The African American Librarians Interest Group:

  • supports efforts to address inequities that impact library services to People of Color;
  • serves to provide leadership and advocacy for African American librarians;
  • promotes excellence in the delivery of library and information services to African Americans; and
  • evaluates the quality of published materials concerning African Americans.
