Monica has accrued over 14 years experience in the technology field. Monica came from Moody’s Financial Corporation, where she led the operations IT group and managed high profile projects. She has been with the Peninsula Library System for 5 years. She is responsible for the network and system infrastructure as well as new technology, which support 35 library sites across San Mateo County. Most recent completed project was to upgrade all library sites from ATM\Frame Relay to a fiber optic network backbone and currently upgrading 29 sites to RFID. Monica has been instrumental in statewide projects such as Open Source-Open Libraries and Bigbox Program.
Monica is San Mateo County leadership graduate and is certified as a Project Management Professional from UC Berkley. Monica was elected to sit on the CLA Board for California Library Association 2009, is a member of ALA’s OITP telecommunications subcommittee and Library Commissioner for the city of Hayward. Monica is highly involved in her local community and is an inspired politician.
On her free time she enjoys hiking with her husband and two dogs, wine tasting, yoga, going to baseball games(SF Giants), and enjoying life to the fullest.
