Who belongs to CLA?
Why I Belong to CLA
My involvement with CLA began with the mentor-protégé program while I was in
library school. Having an experienced librarian to ask questions of and take an
interest in my career was such a help to me. CLA invited me to serve on the CLA
membership committee while I was still in library school, giving me a chance to
become professionally involved and strengthen my resume. Now that I've graduated
and am working in my first librarian position, I value CLA's networking,
educational and leadership opportunities even more. CLA has helped me feel
welcomed in my new profession, and has been one of the best career investments
I've made.
