PRexcellence Awards

The PRexcellence Awards are given annually during the CLA Conference. Materials are judged within categories based on the library's budget (less than 5M; $5-10M; $10M and above). Within those categories, four awards will be given:
- Programming - Social, cultural, educational or political. Examples: reading or literacy initiatives for children, young adult or adults, exhibitions, author readings, among others. Entries may be a single piece or an entire campaign.
- Advocacy - Examples: fundraising, political campaigns, voter education.
- News and Information - Examples: bibliographies, booklists, newsletters, services listings, calendars, websites or portals, orientation materials, policies.
- Other - Everything else that doesn't fit into the categories above. Examples: professional development, training, recruitment, library conference or workshop materials.
2007 Call for Entries
All California libraries and library supporters (Friends, Foundations, etc.) are invited to enter.

All materials designed and used in FY 2006-2007 are eligible. Postmark deadline for entries is Tuesday, August 7, 2007.
"Best in Show" is selected from among the winning entries; the award will be presented at the Awards Dinner at CLA's Annual Conference.

Re: PRexcellence Awards
- Winners will receive a PRexcellence 2007 Certificate of Recognition.
- Winning entries will be displayed at the California Library Association Annual Conference in Long Beach, October 26-29 and on the CLA website after the conference.
- Winners must supply 100 copies of the award-winning printed material for distribution at the CLA Swap and Shop.
