Management Interest Group
The Management Interest Group promotes excellence in the management, administration, and governance of libraries in California. Whether you're currently a leader or are exploring a leadership role in the future, the Management Interest Group provides networking and learning opportunities for library leaders of today and tomorrow.
Major initiatives include:
- Leading from any Position workshops - based on the principle that leadership and positive contributions can occur at all levels in an organization. Sponsored jointly with the Public Library Section and the Continuing Education Committee, workshops were offered in Northern and Southern California in 2006 and 2007.
- Recruitment Pavilion, CLA Annual Conference - job applicants and employers may list resumes, post positions and conduct on-site interviews. In addition, the Management Section offers a resume review service at the conference.
- Annual Conference sessions on topics ranging from tax measure development to preparing for leadership change.
Discussion List
Members of Management Interest Group are invited to join the group's e-mail discussion list. This list is to be used as a tool for sharing information among members of the section.
