California Library Information eXchange (CALIX)
CALIX is the listserv for California library community sponsored by the California Library Association. It is hosted by the UCLA Department of Information Studies.
This list focuses on issues of interest to library staff and library supporters in California in general and on issues relating to the California Library Association in particular. The association uses it as a vehicle of communication for its members. The list is open to all subscribers, but the intent is to be a forum for public, academic, school and special librarians in the state of California. Appropriate issues and news items for this list relate to:
- statewide networking and telecommunications for libraries;
- news and alerts relating to California libraries;
- continuing education opportunities within the state; and
- reports from in-state meetings and workshops, grant opportunities, and announcements of upcoming events.
Discussion is welcome on issues pertinent to the California library community. Commercial use of this list is not appreciated or encouraged.
To Subscribe and Unsubscribe
Visit the CALIX listinfo page. Complete the login information to manage your account.
If you are new to CALIX, click on the "First Login?" link found under the login form. You will be directed to a page that asks for you email address, in which your CALIX password will be sent. You may use this password to manage your CALIX account, such as subscribing/unsubscribing or changing e-mail addresses. If you have forgotten your password, you may click on the "Forgot Password" link to receive your information.
If you change your email address, please remember to unsubscribe your old address and resubscribe with your new one to ensure uninterrupted use of CALIX.
Posting to CALIX
After you have registered and received your password, you may post to the CALIX listserv by sending your message to email@example.com. Please note, only CALIX subscribers are allowed to post & view your messages.
